Rambutan
Description
Rambutan is a tropical fruit native to Southeast Asia, known for its bright, hairy exterior and sweet, juicy flesh. The fruit is small, about the size of a golf ball, with a red or yellow outer skin covered in soft, spiky hairs. Once peeled, the flesh inside is translucent white, similar in appearance and texture to a lychee or longan. It has a mildly sweet, slightly tart flavor, often compared to grapes with a floral undertone.
Rambutans are typically eaten fresh, but they can also be used in desserts, salads, or beverages. The seed inside is inedible and should be discarded. The fruit is rich in vitamin C, fiber, and antioxidants, making it a nutritious and refreshing snack.
