Mangosteen

Mangosteen is a deep purple tropical fruit, roughly the size of a tangerine, that thrives in the hot, humid climates of Southeast Asia. Typically about 2–3 inches (5–8 cm) in diameter similar to a small apple it has a hard, leathery, maroon-colored rind that can be nearly an inch thick. Inside, you’ll find soft, opaque white segments that resemble a head of garlic.
